PackPal App Design
Challenge
The goal of this project was to create a functional app that helps users create packing lists and aids them in packing more efficiently. Assets include a logo, color palette, font system, UI style guide, and functioning app prototype.

Process
The process included research to establish a target audience and competitors and creating a user journey and wireframes. Through a calming color palette, rounded corners, and typography, the app achieves this relaxed friendly feel. Users of the app can create personalized packing lists, generate packing lists, add outfits to their packing closet, use the AR feature to virtually scan and pack their bags, get packing tips & tricks, and more!
Lists
The screens on the left are under the My Lists section of the app. Users can create personalized lists, tagging different users (people you’re packing for), bags, and locations. You can create your own categorizes and add items and or if you rather generate an automated list you can do so too! On the right, you are in an already created list. The user is able to check and uncheck the items they have packed and create outfits for specific days and events which get added into their closet. You can also access your full closet in the profile section.
AR Feature
The app also includes an AR Feature that shows the user how to pack a specific list into a scanned luggage item. You can then save those packed bags to look back on later.
Tips & Tricks
Alongside the AR feature, there is a Tips & Tricks section of the app where users can find and search for articles/videos on packing hacks and advice.
Profile – Added Users
In the profile section, you can add new and view all users. If you are packing for other individuals in addition to yourself, you can tag others individuals on lists to stay organized.
Profile – Locations
In the profile section, you can also tag the specific locations you are traveling to, as well as check the weather forecast.
Profile – Reminders
In the profile section, you can set tailored reminders, like the last minute items you need to add to your bag.
Profile – Saved Bags
In the profile section, you can also save the bags you use to pack, tag them on lists and see what lists they are tagged on.
Results
The PackPal app was designed to make packing easier and more accessible. PackPal’s name emphasizes its mission of making packing a more enjoyable experience. The apps goal is to lighten the stress that packing can create and providing helpful ways for users to pack.
